Ingrid is broadening its delivery option services to incorporate delivery costs paid by merchants to carriers. In addition to estimated time and price, this new dimension influences delivery options.
Ingrid currently offers delivery options based on estimated time and price. With our latest enhancement, we'll also factor in the costs that merchants pay to carriers for these delivery options. This added dimension not only offers a more comprehensive view of delivery choices but also opens up the possibility to optimize delivery profitability.
Accessing Delivery Cost Data
Ingrid can obtain information about the cost of each delivery option from several sources:
- Carrier API: Connect directly to carrier APIs for real-time cost data retrieval.
- Carriers' Invoices: Collect cost information from the invoices issued by carriers to merchants.
- Third-party Providers: Utilize data from specialized third-party providers proficient in aggregating carrier cost data.
- Direct Input in Merchant Administration Dashboard (MAD): Enable merchants to input their cost data directly into the MAD for seamless integration.
How It Works:
- Carrier Options Generation: Ingrid will continue generating carrier options as usual, factoring in elements like estimated time and price.
- Sorting and Filtering by Costs: Consumers gain the ability to sort and filter delivery options based on associated costs, empowering them to make informed decisions.
- Visibility Adjustments: In response to costs, Ingrid may selectively hide or promote certain delivery options, ensuring consumers encounter the most pertinent choices.
- Dynamic Delivery Option Prices: Ingrid can dynamically adapt displayed delivery option prices based on associated costs. Consequently, the final consumer price may fluctuate in line with the merchant's expenses.
This enhancement not only equips consumers with more comprehensive delivery information but also empowers merchants to make judicious choices for cost-effective delivery options.
